Net gain after unfollows. Insights shows follows and unfollows.

Two ways to measure growth

Followers per week suits small accounts, where growth tends to come in steady numbers from posting and local activity. Percentage per month suits larger accounts, where growth compounds: a bigger audience shares to more people. Try both with your own numbers and see which matches your history better.

Getting your real numbers

On a professional account, Insights shows follows and unfollows for recent periods. For a percentage, note your follower count on the first of the month and again on the first of the next: (new − old) ÷ old × 100.

Speeding it up

The levers that change weekly gains are posting rhythm, reels that people share, collaborations and local visibility; our free growth guide covers each. Some people also use a one-off follower package to skip the empty-profile stage; it moves the starting point, not the weekly rate.

FAQ

Questions people ask

How accurate is the date?
It assumes your growth rate stays the same, which it rarely does exactly. Use it to set expectations and compare scenarios, not as a forecast.
What is a typical growth rate?
It varies too much by niche, size and effort to give a meaningful average. Your own last three months are the best guide.
Does a follower package change the result?
It raises the starting point once. The weekly rate still depends on your content.
